Allstate vs. State Farm
Both Allstate and State Farm offer highly customizable homeowners insurance options to residents of all 50 states. As two of the leaders in the insurance industry, it is no surprise these two companies have a lot of similarities. Expect to see extensive flexibility, and intuitive apps, and websites.
While both companies do have great resources for educating customers, Allstate does seem to have a slightly better knack for breaking down concepts in an informative and easy to digest manner. Overall, the experience with Allstate or State Farm for homeowners’ insurance should be quite similar.
Allstate vs. Geico
When it comes to comparing Allstate and Geico, the main difference is that Geico provides home insurance through a network of partners, while Allstate underwrites all of its policies. Both companies give customers the ability to get a fast online quote, and provide the flexibility to tailor plan options to your unique needs.
When it comes to the AM Best Financial rating, it’s close, but the slight edge goes to Geico. Allstate has an impressive A+ rating, but Geico commands the highest possible rating of A++. Although keep in mind that your Geico home insurance will be provided by a third party, so the financial rating and customer experience may vary depending on the partner who will be issuing your policy.
The Bottom Line
Allstate home insurance has many benefits for customers, particularly newcomers. It offers many discounts and flexibility in creating a policy for your needs. While customer service reports are positive—just above the industry average, its complaints index is on the high side.
